On 25 November the News of the World published an article concerning the launch of a biography on Michael Barrymore by executives of the newspaper.

Contrary to the suggestion made by the article, Michael Barrymore was not involved at any stage with the writing of this book. He did not give any interviews to the authors of the book and has not authorised the biography in any way.

It appears that information contained in the book has come from interviews given by Michael Barrymore in other contexts. He has not given permission for transcripts of the interviews to be used by the News of the World for this book or for any other purpose. The matter is in the hands of his lawyers.
