Breast Cancer Care is thrilled to announce that it has been chosen by TV entertainer Michael Barrymore, to be the recipient of nearly £52,000, the result of Michael's participation in Celebrity Big Brother, earlier this year. The money raised was generated from viewers' texting and phoning to vote for the contestants throughout the duration of the show. Breast Cancer Care is here to provide information and support to anyone affected by breast cancer, helping them find the knowledge and strength they need to deal with what is a very difficult and uncertain time. The charity provides a wide range of services from one to one support from people who have had breast cancer to a free and confidential helpline and online chat forums. All services are completely free, which is why the money that Michael is donating is so important. The charity's Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Murray Lindo, said: "We would like to extend a huge thank you to Michael Barrymore for choosing Breast Cancer Care as his chosen charity. This massive donation will make a big difference to the work we do offering support to the 41,000 women and men diagnosed with breast cancer each year."
