Periodically throughout the show Big Brother sets tasks for the contestants. These often allow them to win little luxuries (like food!), gives them new ways to fill their days and the opportunity to look ridiculous in front of the cameras that are hidden around the house. One of Michael's tasks, as part of a range of 'scientific' experiments, is to find a way to test wether or not an egg is hard boiled and to prove his theory by breaking the eggs against his face.
