Bob Martin (Michael Barrymore) is a successful but extremely troubled gameshow host in this critically acclaimed comedy drama. He has grand plans, like taking over from Terry Wogan on the Eurovision Song Contest and throwing a massive showbiz party at his home; but at the same time he has to try and hide the fact that his piles are playing up and his ex-wife is after him for alimony.

An Oscar special he organises backfires spectacular and one of his production team is accused of spending the night with a gorgeous blonde TV celebrity who guests on the show - but through it all Bob manages to retain his sparkle, if not his dignity.
